Take a strong wrestler, get them tired,
and they aren't as strong.
Take a quick wrestler, get them tired,
and they aren't as quick.
Take a technical wrestler, get them tired,
and they aren't as technical.
No matter what kind of wrestler,
everyone is afraid of getting tired.
It's those who learn to perform
when they're tired that find success.

09/26/08 A STRONG START
After many years of wrestling, training, coaching, traveling and whatever else I've thought it takes to ensure progress in my wrestlers, you hit a point when the schedule becomes ritual. It would be easier to sit back and ride the the early sucess but I know thats not how I got to this point. And I am nowhere near satisfied!
Throughout my training days I have always worked my myself and wrestlers to reach set goals. With a State Title and National Title as a wrestler and then 3 consecutive JSWL Championship (one of toughest leagues in NJ) as a Trainer for the TRWC, Goals have always worked for me. Now as I head Elite I find myself looking for bigger and more challenging goals on a National level with our proven wrestlers. As we prepare for pre-season National events like the Super32, Beast of East, to name a couple. I can only hope you guys do you part. I am not your parents. That means you need to take the time to register and become familiar with dates and weights for the event. I am seeing too often many of you waiting and missing out on opportunities. Without your participation I am unable to make the most of your training and mentoring, and ultimately hindering goal success. Take Responsibility! Your in High School.
On a lighter, more positive note. I want to comment on your effort thus far. I am very impressed, not that we havent always trained hard and long, but with the addition of Frank and Jay in the room, we have defintely stepped it up. Pat yourself on the back for grinding it out. The technioque and drill sessions are grueling and you know I feel you cause I'm doing it too. I can honestly say its working for all of you. Continue to make the most of the Elite Wrestling resources, they are here for you. Challeng the Inner You!
I will always look to push myself and the training at Elite. I expect you to continue pursuing greatness on and off the mat. Train like CHAMPIONS, to be CHAMPIONS.
